Castrol Rustilo DW 4130 is a soft-film solvent-deposited fluid that offers temporary corrosion preventiion and dewatering. As a fluid formulated to give excellent long-term indoor protection, this solvent carries residual water off the surface of metal parts and then evaporates, leaving behind a light, oily-greasy protective film that inhibits rust formation during storage or intermediate processing stages.
Rustilo DW 4130 has a dewatering fluid formulated for the long-term indoor protection of parts and components that are stored under humid conditions. Based on solvent with aromatic content less than 10 ppm, this corrosion preventive and dewatering fluid has stable film characteristics to reduce run-off loss and thus increase process reliability. It effectively removes moisture from surfaces exposed to water-containing processes and thereby reduces the risk of corrosion initiating beneath protective films.
The advantages of this stable film are that it minimises run-off and enhances process reliability, and its flexibility means that it can be applied by immersion, brushing or spraying depending on the shape and accessibility of components. Protective films such as those generated by Rustilo DW 4130 can be removed if required using petroleum solvents or alkaline cleaners available from Castrol.
The product is solvent-based and classified as a combustible liquid. As such, appropriate precautions should be taken when storing or handling, including using suitable personal protective equipment and ensuring good ventilation.
