CASTROL AIRCOL CM 68

CASTROL AIRCOL CM 68 - Air Compressor Lubricant

Castrol Aircol™ CM range of high-quality compressor oils is made from highly refined mineral oil, making it perfect for applications where synthetic and semi-synthetic base oils are not an option. Castrol Aircol products are enhanced with additives to deliver higher load-carrying capacity than other products of the same type, and outstanding thermal and oxidative stability that makes them perfect for a range of heavy-duty applications with varying temperatures.

Castrol Aircol CM 68 is designed to lubricate reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors, as it exhibits low carbon-forming tendencies and is formulated without zinc additives. Products in the Aircol range are ashless oils, meaning that they help to disperse any metallic deposits before they can build up inside the engine. They meet the international technical standards for reciprocating air compressors having air discharge temperatures up to 220°C.

Technical standards

The Castrol Aircol CM range is compliant with the following industry standards:

  • DIN 51506 VD-L, Air compressor oil specification.
  • ISO 6743-3A-DAJ, Air compressor oil specification.

CASTROL AIRCOL CM 68

Castrol Aircol CM 68 is designed for use in both rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors. In combination with other products in the Aircol range, it creates the perfect lubrication system for both oil-flooded and oil-injected rotary screw air compressors. Aircol CM 68 is best suited for lubricating the crankcase and cylinders of reciprocating air compressors, but will perform well in a variety of applications.

Aircom CM 68 has been engineered to meet service drain intervals of up to 4000 hours or compressors operating continuously at air discharge temperatures of 90ºC and below, minimising the need for maintenance and lowering operating costs in many cases. It is also effective if air discharge temperatures exceed 90ºC, whether continuously or intermittently, although we advise you use manufacturers’ recommended drain intervals in these cases.

Finally, the product has been designed with a high load-bearing capacity, which enables it to meet the technical requirements of geared air compressor units.
